Entrusted by the Dongguan Municipal Government, the “Dongguan Project” implemented by Hukui Biotechnology Corporation, has successfully reached the goal of courting 20 Taiwanese companies to Dongguan. The mayor of Dongguan, Liang Weidong met up with John Hsuan, Chairman of Hukui Biotechnology Corporation, Chairman of Trans Regional Biotechnology Association, and the representatives from 20 enterprises participated in the “Dongguan Project”. Both sides, the City Government and Taiwanese companies hoped to meet more often to help deepen the collaborations among Biotech companies between Taiwan and Dongguan.

Liang Weidong said that biotechnology industry was one of the strategic industries in Dongguan. With the advent of the construction of the “The Great Bay Area of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao”, Dongguan will promote the biotechnology industry to a higher level. The Greater Bay Area is one of the well-developed regions in Mainland. Its health market is huge. He hoped that more Taiwanese high quality biotechnology companies would come to Dongguan and set foot in deeply to get great market penetration.

John Hsuan pointed out that this was the first such large-scaled industrial transfer platform. The “Dongguan Project” would become a demonstration model of a cross-strait biotechnology industry cooperation; its ripple effect would lead to higher, broader, and deeper cross-strait cooperation.
